Alma – The chapter of the Alma college of Business Professionals of America (BPA) participated in the post -secondary state leadership conference for Michigan in Grand Rapids in February and won 24 awards in total, including 12 first place prizes.
“We worked hard to prepare for this event and we were finally proud of the way we finished,” said Victoria Posey, a second year student major Alma. “It was a good development before our national conference in a few months, in which we hope to earn even more.”
The BPA team will participate in the National Leadership 2024 conference in May in Orlando, Florida.
Among the winners of the first prize at the Alma College were Perci Wolday, who won a first prize in administrative support concepts and the categories of computer programming concepts, and Hannah Gyolai, who won the first prizes in the Bank and finance and fundamental calculation sheet applications categories.
Chloé Anderson won the first prizes in skills and management of advanced interviews, Marketing and human resources concepts Category, while Posey won the first prizes in health administration procedures and categories of parliamentary procedure concepts.
Emily Kraenzlein won a first prize in the Graphic design promotion Category and Pearl Amedagbe won a first prize in the health insurance and medical billing category. Wassim Guerfali won a first prize in the basic category of office systems and procedures. As a team, Amedagbe, Hiba Belhaj and Elizabeth Mukurazita won a first prize in the Podcast production team category.
“BPA is one of these student organizations that anyone can join, whatever their adult,” said business teacher Andy Singer, BPA advisor to Alma College. “It is a very diverse organization and our students make trips each year in the major cities of the United States which organize these national conferences. We think it is a big organization to be part of and we would like to see it becoming even greater than it is now. »»
