A Illinois business Belonging to a vocal criticism of a besieged democrat mayor has ignited earlier this week in what is the subject of an investigation as a “suspect” incident.
“The fire is suspect in nature,” said Dolton firefighters John Calhoun said to WNG. “We have the fire marshal here currently with our criminal fire team (mutual help).”
The fire started around 6 a.m. on Tuesday and was quickly raised to an answer to three alarms. While no one was injured, the building was completely destroyed, Fox 32 Chicago reported.
A smaller fire was also reported in the same place last week, according to WGN.

Last year, the location was attacked by Illinois State police secretary as part of a stolen car investigation, According to WNG. Officials previously declared to the point of sale that 10 of the 50 vehicles parked on the property were involved in surveys on car flight, the owner, Lawrence Gardner, saying that he used the installation to rent parking spaces.
The Secretary of State of Illinois and the Dolton fire service did not immediately respond to the request for comments from Fox News Digital.

Gardner would have been a frequent critic of the outgoing mayor of Dolton, Tiffany Hényard. Gardner previously said he was reprisal against Hényard for not having offered his support, according to WGN.
Gardner did not immediately respond to the request for comments from Fox News Digital.
Hényard, whom the criticisms have nicknamed the “worst mayor of America”, has been the subject of numerous allegations over the years. The self-written “Super Mayor” was criticized last month for having omitted to present up to four consecutive meetings of the village council after losing his candidacy for re-election in February.

In 2024, the FBI served assignments to appear in the village hall of Dolton in the middle of the current corruption allegations, but Hényard was not served. She also faced allegations of sexual assault and a meticulous examination surrounding her charity against cancer.
Following his loss against the mayor elected Jason House, the authorities published a federal summons after launching a criminal investigation linked to a development project involving land belonging to the boyfriend of Hényard, according to Fox 32 Chicago.
