The world is “impressed” from Canada after the last federal elections, singer U2 Bono said.
Irish Rock Star spoke with Global The morning show Earlier this week and offered its point of view on the most recent Canadian federal elections.
“I am so happy to tell you about the Canadians at that time in your political life. Gather, showing the world how to do it. I have always been a fan of your mosaic, your culture, your reason and never more than now,” said Bono in the interview.
“The whole world is impressed by what you have done. Thank you for bringing together, for putting your whole policy aside and not electing a populist. The competence turns out to be the rarest thing on the planet these days. Many, thoughtful and intelligent leadership. So, thank you,” he said.

“Fifty-one reason to love Canada, I said,” said Bono, in a reference to the repeated threats of US President Donald Trump to transform Canada into a 51st American state.

“I said in Canada, who wanted to be part of our fabulous golden dome system, that it will cost $ 61 billion if they remain a separate but unequal country, but will cost zero dollar if they become our 51st cherished condition,” wrote Trump on Truth Social. “They plan to offer!”
The Prime Minister’s office said on Tuesday evening in a statement to Global News: “The Prime Minister was clear on each occasion, including in his conversations with President Trump, that Canada is an independent and sovereign nation, and it will remain one.”
