Ruby Amanfu and Sam Ashworth performed at the 2024 Winter Meeting of the International Society of Hotel Associations held recently at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee. Amanfu, a Ghanaian-born, Nashville-based GRAMMY, Soul Train and BET Award-nominated songwriter and recording artist, wowed the audience by performing “Hard Place,” which she and Sam co-wrote for artist HER, “With Me Now”. and “I’m so glad you’re home.” Ruby’s husband, Sam Ashworth, a 3-time GRAMMY nominee, as well as a Golden Globe Award and Oscar nominee, performed “SpeakNow,” which Leslie Odom Jr. sang for the film, One night in Miamiand “Without You”, which was cut in 2024 by Andy Grammar.
Amanfu has released 11 critically acclaimed solo studio albums, and Ashworth is best known for his key role in the album HER, I knew herin which he co-wrote nine songs which earned him an Album of the Year nomination and a Song of the Year nomination for “Hard Place” at the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards.
This year’s conference brought together the CEOs of various national hotel and lodging associations, as well as senior executives from the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Asian American Hotel Owners Association and major hotel chains.
