
Mercury insurancewhose headquarters are in Los Angeles, California, named Steve Bennett As the main director of climate and disaster science.
In this new position, Bennett build and direct a team focused on the identification of ways in which Mercury and its insured can be more resilient in the face of increasingly serious weather events focused on the climate.
Bennett has more than three decades of leadership in extreme weather, climate risk and risk management. He also sits at the auxiliary faculty of the University of Caroline du Nord in Chapel Hill, where he teaches and directs research for the Institute for Risk Management and Insurance Innovation. He was previously co-founder and chief scientist at Demex.
