Despite the directive of government agencies of Prime Minister David Eby to avoid dealing with American suppliers, British Columbia for emergency health services asked for a large order of costly water bottles, Global News learned.
BCEHS published an invitation to quote (ITQ) on the BC BID website for the purchase of 5,000 bottles of Yeti water.

Yeti is an American company based in Texas, and their bottles can cost up to $ 80, depending on the size.
“I send instructions to the Crown Societies, to the heads of government, to do a few things,” said Eby on April 10.

“One is to examine your contracts. Can you cancel contracts with American companies and replace them with Canadian companies? ”
Asked about Yeti’s offer, Eby was not aware.
But a few minutes later, this offer from Yeti was no longer listed as “open”. Instead, he manifests himself as “canceled”.
The province of health services for health services replied, saying: “The supply chain for the Provincial Health Services Authority has decided to suspend the offer.”

He added that in the more in-depth exam: “We recognize that the use of Canadian rebuilders of American goods may not fall outside the expectations of the British Columbia Government.”
“So when I look at all the purchases, I think we should have a first approach to the BC or Canada,” said conservative chief John Rustad. “I think it’s a good thing to do.”
The Yeti water bottles were purchased for paramedical paramedics, which received them from the 2021 heat dome.
The province of health of health services indicates that it is anxious to republish the offer.
