The coherence of Carson Kittsley at the Penn State White Race last fall was the headliner of a lively sporting year in Fox Chapel. The second year golfer pulled one by 136 from 8 sous to win the Piaa Class 3a title.

Kittsley, who missed the state tournament by a few first year shots, rebounded by winning everything during his second round.

In October, Kittsley said he was important that he won a victory before the calendar returned to 2025.

“I wanted to enter and win,” Kittsley said. “I didn’t win anything big this summer. I wanted to win something big before the end of the year. ”

Kittsley became the second champion of the Piaa in the history of the Fox Chapel. Frank Fuhrer III was the first champion of the Foxes when he won in 1976.

Here is an overview of some of the other best moments of this school year, starting with fall. Come back next week for an overview of the best winter and spring moments.

Soccer boys on top

Senior Carson Krushanky struck the fox at the top of the Wpial mountain in class 4A. Krushanky scored 70 minutes in the final to help foxes overthrow Plum, 1-0, at the Highmark stadium.

It was the sixth wpial crown of the Foxes and the first since 1995.

“An incredible match. I know everyone in this team is so excited for this victory. We have worked so hard this season. I am really happy for all those we were able to get this last victory,” said Krushanky.

Fox Chapel (14-5-2) ended up for first place with North Allegheny for the section title. The Foxes lost in the quarterfinals of the state with a 2-1 defeat against Warwick.

Vaughan claims gold

Ethan Vaughan’s senior season has proven to be a validation of all its persistence. The injuries limited Vaughan during his previous seasons. During the Cross-Country Wpial 3A Wpial Championships, a healthy vaughan fled with the title last fall.

Vaughan broke his personal record at 12 seconds and won the wpial with a time of 15 minutes, 26.5 seconds.

“To be honest, the whole race I was a little nervous, especially at the end,” said Vaughan. “I felt like they were starting to catch up with me.

Vaughan finished seventh in the States, while David Black finished 15th.

Girl soccer in the wpial final

Fox Chapel’s women’s football team did not slow down when she fell in class 3A. The Foxes, who claimed the Crown 4a two seasons ago, remained undefeated in the section at 10-0 and reached the match for title 3A.

Fox Chapel (19-4-1) lost against South Fayette in the championship match.

The football snaps sequence

Fox Chapel’s football team did not find a way to return to class 5a wpial qualifiers, but the Foxes put their long series of futility behind them. Victor Nernberg ran out of 122 yards and marked a touch to help Fox Chapel eliminate Baldwin and finish a sequence of 22 consecutive defeats.
