Bad lifestyle leading to kidney diseases: experts

Lucknow: the experts expressed their concern about the impact of Bad lifestyle choice on kidney health.
“Consequently, many patients reach hospitals in an advanced state, where dialysis and transplants are the only options to save lives,” said professor Vishwajeet Singh, head of nephrology in Kgmu during a Renal health awareness Program on Tuesday.
VC teacher KGMU Soniya Nityanand inaugurated the event and addressed an awareness session in the OPD, educating people on kidney health. She advised smoking, alcohol consumption and self-mediation with pain relievers, as these increase the risk of kidney failure.
“Maintaining a healthy weight and controlling blood pressure and diabetes by regular checks is very important,” she said.
The event highlighted the importance of a healthy diet and physical form. Participants received fruit and bottles of water. The main contributors were Dr. Medhavi Gautam, Dr. Virendra Atam, Dr. Sk Sonkar, Dr. Vishal, Dr Durgesh, Dr. Gulab and Dr. Kk Singh, Goonj radio team.
