Harrisburg – The Attorney General Dave on Sunday and the County Foundation of Delaware announces that after an 11th hour meeting on Sunday in Harrisburg, an agreement was concluded which will maintain Crozer Health open to an immediate future while the permanent restructuring of the system is solidified.
While the system faced an imminent closure, a judge of the Texas Federal Federal Court convened a meeting between all the parties on Sunday, where the Attorney General on Sunday highlighted the urgency to conclude an agreement and maintain health care accessible for the south-east of Pennsylvanians.
The Attorney General on Sunday and his senior executives attended the meeting, as well as the members of the board of directors and the president of the Foundation for the county of Delaware, which was trained with the non-profit assets of the purchase of the Crozer-Heystone health system to prospect the medical properties in 2016.
“I am happy that the games focused on how to move forward on behalf of the Pennsylvanians, instead of how we arrived here, and I worked on an agreement after more than six hours of negotiations,” said the Attorney General on Sunday. “I thank all the parties for their negotiations and sacrifices in good faith made to get there. This work has been done on behalf of the thousands of people and families who depend on the Crozer health system for essential services – and the many workers who provide this care.
“My office will remain engaged in this process when we work to find a long -term solution.”
The County Delaware Foundation has initiated essential funding which puts immediate deficits which would have led to the closure of the system, probably in the coming days.
The president of the Foundation, Frances Sheehan, said: “We are encouraged by this result and we hope that this will lead to a long -term solution with a non -profit supplier. For three years, we pleaded for residents of the county of Delaware, supporting negotiations and exploring all the options available to prevent the health system from closing. Although we cannot support an entire health system, we remain determined to ensure continuous access to care. »»
Also on Sunday at the Reunion of the Headquarters of the Prosecutor General of Harrisburg, the leaders of the Government of the county of Delaware (practically) and the representatives of FTI Consulting, the receiver appointed by the court will supervise the management of the hospital for the immediate future, as well as the CEO of Crozer Anthony Esposito, and the representatives of Prospect Medical.
The prosecutor’s office advocates Pennsylvanian for years, because poor prospect management – and possible bankruptcy – has led to the installations and reductions in services. More recently, the prosecutor’s office general has filed a civil complaint against Prospect and Partners, alleging that Prospect violated a 2016 purchase agreement and by asking for payment of the ones suspended costs and the courtyard of the court of the new management which would save the failure system.
“The future of Crozer Health dominated my first month in power,” said the Attorney General on Sunday. “And it deserves this total attention, because this system is an asset for the communities it serves and an economic engine for the county of Delaware.”
We expect to publish more details in the coming weeks, because a permanent solution is continued.
