The Arlington Entertainment District scored another big victory with the announcement that the United Football League has signed a lease for 111,409 square feet of space at 1401 Nolan Ryan Expressway in Ballpark Circle that will serve as its new headquarters.

Building owner Fort, citing CoStar data, said the deal was the largest office deal in Tarrant County in the past 24 months.

“We are thrilled to welcome the United Football League to Ballpark Circle,” said Rob Brandt, vice president of leasing at Fort, who announced the deal. “This prime location places UFL at the center of Arlington’s sports and entertainment district, with access to dynamic venues, premier amenities and a thriving business community.”

Fort, formerly Fort Capital, is a Fort Worth-based real estate investment company with more than $2 billion in assets across Texas, Tennessee and Florida.

The league is expected to move into the new digs in early 2025. The announcement has been called a “defining moment” for the league.

The headquarters spans two floors and will house the league’s administrative, operational and team activities, Fort said.

“Obtaining the UFL lease at Ballpark Circle is an important milestone for Arlington and for Ft. This deal not only highlights the city’s appeal as a destination for large organizations, but also reinforces the strength of our vision for high-impact real estate investments,” said Fort President Steve Bailey , in the report. “We are proud to play a role in supporting Arlington’s growth and success, and we look forward to the energy and opportunities this partnership will bring to the region.” »

The UFL’s Arlington Renegades play at nearby Choctaw Stadium, a short walk from the league’s new headquarters. The Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium and the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field are also within walking distance.

The league recently announced its spring schedule and will begin its second 10-week season on March 28. The Renegades will open the season at home at 3 p.m. March 29 in Arlington against the San Antonio Brahmas on Fox.

The conference championship games will take place on June 8 and the UFL championship game is scheduled for June 14.

The UFL was created in 2023 through a merger between the United States Football League and the XFL. Former Dallas Cowboys player Daryl Johnston is the head of football operations.

Besides the Renegades, the UFL includes the Birmingham Stallions, DC Defenders, Houston Roughnecks, Memphis Showboats, Michigan Panthers, San Antonio Brahmas and St. Louis Battlehawks. The Renegades were the last champions of the XFL.

The transaction was facilitated by Dallas-based Kolby Dickerson and Sam Davis of TXRE Properties, representing Fort, while Jamie Adams and Kelsi Couture of Zang | Adams Real Estate represented UFL.

“This is a defining moment for the United Football League as it establishes its headquarters in one of the most vibrant sports and entertainment districts in the country,” Jamie Adams of Zang | Adams said in a statement. “Being surrounded by iconic sporting venues creates an environment that reflects the UFL’s ambition and aligns with its vision of growth and excellence. It’s really exciting to see all of this come to fruition in a city that lives and breathes sports.

UFL deal is latest a series of announcements at headquarters for the city.

In November, Texas Trust Credit Union announced it would move its headquarters to the 124,000-square-foot Skymark Tower, a building at 1531 N. Cooper St. that it recently purchased.

In fact, Arlington had a good year in 2024, attracting corporate headquarters to the city including makers of satellites, autonomous vehicles and cellphone chargers to owners of family-oriented television networks.

More recent moves include satellite company E-Space, autonomous vehicle company Mozee and cellphone charger maker Salcomp.

In early 2024, Christian media company GAC Media d/b/a Great American Media decided to move its Fort Worth base to 2221 E. Lamar Blvd. in Arlington. GAC owns several US cable networks, such as Great American Faith & Living, and creates family entertainment.
