American Airlines published a statement apologizing for the flight delays after the airline has encountered “technology problems” on some of its systems.
Although the problems affect an unknown number of flights nationally, the airline said that no flight had been canceled as a result of the problems.
“A technological problem had an impact on the connectivity of some of our systems earlier during the day. We have worked with our partners to solve the problem and the applications that our customers and the teams use are now fully operational. Although we have experienced delays accordingly, we have not canceled any flight.
Although its headquarters in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, American Airlines operates a center of the O’Hare international airport in Chicago, where it serves as a second carrier of the airport behind United Airlines.
In addition to Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago-O’hare, American Airlines also has hubs based in Charlotte, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Washington DC
