- Amazon has cut jobs in his books activities, according to an internal email.

Amazon Cup of jobs in his Books Business, according to an internal email consulted by Business Insider on Thursday.
“Today, we take the measure very difficult to eliminate certain roles in your team,” wrote a managers of Amazon senior in the email. “Unfortunately, your role has been eliminated. This decision was not taken lightly, and the leadership of books and the HR team are there to support you through this transition.”
The email indicated that employees will receive complete remuneration and benefits for the next 60 days, or 90 days for New York or New Jersey employees, as well as additional layoffs.
“As part of our current work to make our teams and programs work more efficiently and to better align with our commercial roadmap, we have made the decision difficult to eliminate a small number of roles within the organization of books,” said a spokesperson for Amazon. “We do not make these decisions lightly, and we are committed to supporting the employees affected thanks to their transitions.”
The cuts affected less than 100 employees. The technology giant does not reduce the size of its book activities because the roles will be reused for other parts of the company, according to Amazon.
Amazon started by selling online books in the 1990s. While the company closed its physical stores in 2022, the online company remained large. Amazon sold for $ 16.9 billion in pounds in the first 10 months of 2022, Bi previously reported.
