LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KVIA) — A downtown Las Cruces staple for drinks, food and entertainment has closed its doors for good.
Amador Live, which includes Amador Patio & Bar, Broken Spoke Taphouse, Jax Rooftop Bar and Club 575 Cruces Crafted Cocktails, has decided to close its doors after “a very difficult few years for all of Las Cruces.”
“It seemed like between the unfortunate ‘who knew it’ pandemic, then the labor shortages, then the inflation and loss of discretionary income, it really seemed to be taking effect,” CEO Max said Bower on ABC-7 Tuesday. .
The dining, bar and entertainment complex had been open since March 2019 after two years of construction.
“In some ways, even after spending five and a half years here, it felt more like a third year,” Bower added.
Over the five years the complex has existed, they have hosted myriad community events such as fundraisers and car shows, and even concerts, featuring the rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. play it in May 2023.
Despite the closure, Bower doesn’t think the complex will remain empty for long.
“It’s still a very new facility, I think it still has a lot of potential, and with the way it’s been designed it has a lot of ability to be compatible with a lot of other uses with very little change ” Bower said.
“I think it’s definitely something that has a future, I think downtown Las Cruces is far from finished, it’s just going to be one of those things where we have to get through these tough times, but I I think we’ll get there,” he added.
