The Utah State University Aggie Chocolate Factory presents a new event: Chocolate Science Saturdays, an interactive experience for chocolate lovers. The inaugural event on Saturday in science will take place on February 22.
Saturdays in chocolate sciences pass chocolate tastings to the upper level by incorporating a more focused approach to food science. Participants will explore the world of cocoa and chocolate, discovering what distinguishes high quality cocoa through a engaging sensory experience.
“This event adopts a more analytical and qualitative approach to the tasting of chocolate and cocoa,” said Sasha Salazar, chocolate production technician at Aggie Chocolate Factory. “We want participants to leave with a deeper appreciation for science and crafts that enter each chocolate bar.”
During the event, participants will discover the history of chocolate and interesting facts on cocoa, will collaborate in small groups to develop flavors for different types of chocolate, use the five senses to identify primary cocoa beans and Secondary and compare good quality chocolate with less quality options by feeling, feeling and tasting cocoa beans and various chocolate samples.
Scientific Saturdays are designed for individual adults, groups of friends and couples looking for a unique activity. The event takes place at AGGIE Chocolate Factory in the Aggie Blue Square complex, 1111 N. 800 E., Logan. Two sessions are available: noon to 1 hour. And from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., please note that this event is not designed for children. Tickets cost $ 13 per person and can be purchased here.
