The Small Business Administration has announced that it would reduce approximately 2,700 jobs, which represents around 43% of its workforce, as part of a restructuring of the agency.
The SBA, which was created in 1953 to provide resources to small businesses and help administer loans to small businesses and disasters, said in a statement that workmanship Out of 6,500 people were part of the efforts to return to the pre-countryic endowment levels, after the agency played a key role during the pandemic to help distribute small businesses.

“By eliminating non -critical positions and consolidation functions, we will come back to the staff levels of the last Trump administration,” Loeffler said in a statement.
The SBA said that its loan and disasters assistance guarantee programs, as well as its field operations and veterans, will remain unaffected. THE personnel discounts will include voluntary resignations, the expiration of meetings in the era of COVIDs and in other words and some job cuts.

This occurs while the Trump administration seeks to reduce the size of the federal workforce, an effort led by the Ministry of Elon Musk, or DOGE.
President Donald Trump Announced separately on Friday that the SBA would assume more responsibilities, saying that the agency would take care of student loans within the framework of a plan aimed at keeping the responsibilities of the Ministry of Education, which the president pushes to close.
