Acclaimed entertainmentThe legendary company has published titles like Kombat Mortel In the 1980s and 1990s, returned as an independent game publisher.
After more than two decades, a team of veterans in the industry united one of the most emblematic brands of the game to publish original intellectual properties, said Alex JosefCEO of New Los Angeles Company, in an interview with Gamesbeat.
“It is a revival and revitalization of the renowned brand with a whole new team,” said Josef. “Some players have an association with praise in the past, but it’s a whole new team.”
He added: “First and foremost, the new acclamation will support independent developers and the new original IP. It will provide all the resources necessary to bring their games to the widest possible public. »»
Like the other publishers closed their doors, acclaim Entertainment officially returns with a vision aimed at revitalizing the landscape of the game and promoting new talents. Originally founded in 1987, the revival marked a new chapter for the publisher, while it seeks to support independent developers and conventional reactive franchises.
Acclaimed will provide essential resources such as financing, marketing and public relations support, giving independent studios the possibility of bringing their creative visions to a large audience.
One of the key objectives of the great elegant elegance is to resuscitate and revitalize its beloved classic IP portfolio appreciated for years by millions of players. To ensure that this vision comes to life, the acclaims have gathered an advisory council made up of estimated leaders of the industry, notably Russell Binder at Striker Entertainment, Mark Caplan at Ridge Partners and Jeff Jarrett at Global Force Entertainment.
Their experience and their precious advice will play a central role in training the future of classic franchises and innovative reclaimment companies. Reclaim’s growth strategy is also supported by key partners Phil Toronto, partner at Vaynerfund, and Eric Vogel, partner at Jet Management.
Their investment and management expertise will help promote a ripe environment to feed independent developers and stimulate long -term success alongside the leadership of the Advisory Council.
The leadership and the board of directors of the new acclamation covers the entertainment industry – license icons, professional athletes, legends of living music and experienced veterans that have defined the intersection of video games and pop culture.
The wrestler twice at the Jeff Jarrett renowned temple, with more than three decades of experience in the entertainment and sports video games, underlines how this wealth of expertise will shape the future of fame.

“For more than three decades, I have been the privilege of having been part of the universes of struggle and play, and I am now delighted to be a partner in the revival of renowned, an emblematic publisher known for having published some of the most legendary games of the 80s and 90s,” said Jarrett, in a press release. “From my first involvement with the successful titles of the 16 -bit publisher for my experience to help shape the TNA Wrestling series, which gave birth to the first video game wrestler to become a full -time alignment member in the square circle, I saw the type of impact first that big games can have on players and fans.”
Jarrett added: “Resurrection acclaim is an opportunity to give the same degree of passion and love to a new generation, and I am delighted to get involved.”
The veteran of the recovery and growth of acclaimed as CEO, is the veteran of the game industry, Alex Josef, who brings more than two decades of experience in marketing and by publishing hundreds of games on PC, console and mobile.
“It is an absolute honor and pleasure to direct the burden of renamed renown at the forefront of the game industry,” said Josef. “We are fortunate that we have an extremely talented team and that we have already signed incredible independent titles, which we will reveal soon.”
Josef did not know the original founders of reclaimment, when he obtained his graduate of secondary studies the year she had started.
Origins

Greg Fischbach, the original founder who started acclaim Entertainment in 1987, is not involved. The former Fischbach company has published games such as NBA Jam and Mortal Kombat. The latter was a controversial title which was so violent that it led to the hearings of the Congress on censorship. This finally led to a system of game notes as well as a case of the Supreme Court of the United States which opposed the defenders of children’s security to the rights of the first amendment. The game industry has won this case.
But the acclaimed entertainment fell in 2004. Renowned games, a kind of successor, began in 2006. But it closed in 2010.
Fischbach launched a new game publisher, Accelerate Games, in 2020, because he could not obtain the old renowned name. But Accelerate Games was very calm.
And the old reversal brands are dispersed. Mortal Kombat is now Warner Bros. And NBA Jam belongs to Electronic Arts. Turok is held by Universal Studios. There were many other titles, such as BMX XXX, judge Dredd and wizards and warriors.
To bring back
The new acclamation will undertake a series of publishing services, general financing, AQ, location and more. As a secondary objective, the company will seek older intellectual property, including the older acclaimed play properties, and will try to revitalize them for a new generation of players, Josef said. So that the new acclamation is getting their hands on the old properties, it will probably take a lot of money.
“We take a look at the restart games. Part of the IP will not be available, “he said.
Josef said that the company could publish three or four games a year as it was speeding, but that it will not pump securities at a high rate. It will focus on an original IP and perhaps an IP established in a given period of time. Russell Binder, the advisers, has been involved in many films based on games like five nights at Freddy, and it is also a possible point of sale for the creativity of the new acclamation.
“Everyone brings something to the table that allows us to look at different opportunities, be it a license or a type of transmedia,” said Josef.
The company has collected funding, but it does not say how much. It has six people distributed on a variety of places.
“Under the acclaim umbrella, we have a fairly wide development team partnership with which we have with Mega Cat Studios, so we will be able to draw on their development team if necessary,” said Josef. “They will manage the porting and also provide outsourced support.”
Josef was previously part of Graffiti Games, which raised $ 1.5 million in 2021. He helped publish 16 titles during this period and left at the end of 2022. He began working on the new renowned project in 2024, first by consultation. And he spent the last year assembling all of this.
“Originally, we thought of a brand new independent game publishing company,” said Josef. “No one seemed to spend money. This is the perfect time to launch something new. Each developer I spoke to was super excited renowned. This is one of the most exciting things I have done in my career. “”
The company plans to release its first match this year, perhaps around the third quarter. And he actively searches for additional titles. It will not be easy, because the market is very difficult with 17,000 games that go out on Steam each year.
“Our objective is to publish a generation turnover as quickly as possible and to offer additional games,” said Josef.
