Jeff Buckley has never been comfortable with fame.

The singer-songwriter, who died suddenly at the age of 30, had trouble with his success and some of the most superficial aspects of being a star throughout his career.

A new documentary, It’s never over, Jeff Buckley, which was created on Friday at Film Festival by Sundance, reveals to what extent his new exhibition tormented him, especially when he was chosen for the number “50 most beautiful people” of People magazine.

In the document, the former girlfriend and musician of Buckley, Joan Wasser, recalls his extreme embarrassment when he appeared in the magazine, showing a photo that she still has the page of Buckley in the issue, on Which he wrote: “Kill me”.

Wasser also tells how Buckley took him with him to buy all the magazine’s numbers they could find, spending hundreds of dollars in the process, trying to prevent anyone from seeing the page with his image.

Presenting raw interviews with her former girlfriends Wasser and Rebecca Moore and her mother, Mary Guibert, the new documentary by director Amy Berg is an exploration of the life of Buckley and her death premature by accidental drowning.

He recounts her difficult childhood with her absent father and her young mother (she was only 17 years old when she got pregnant), as well as her fight to remain authentic in her music while facing the requirements of glory. In addition, he addresses his mental health problems and his strong feeling of impostor syndrome, especially when he receives praise from his musician colleagues.

Buckley died in 1997 after officially released a single studio album.,, years 1994 Gracewhich becomes success in Europe and a modest success in the United States. At the time of his death, he worked in recording a second album.

Brad Pittwho at one point I wanted to play Buckley In a biopic, produced the film via its company Plan B Entertainment.
