Wausau Fire Department gets new CPR technology

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – The Wausau Fire Department is adopting advanced technology it could save lives in an emergency.

The department is adding mechanical CPR devices designed to help first responders maintain the ideal compression depth and speed during resuscitation.

The department’s EMS division chief, Jared Thompson, said in a news release that the new devices will improve patients’ chances of survival, but also ensure that paramedics can “provide the best care possible when every second counts.” .
