Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid to face disciplinary hearing for cross-check at chief of Vancouver Canucks winger Conor Garland, NHL The Department of Player Safety announced this on Sunday.
Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers will also have a hearing for crosschecking Edmonton defenseman Evan Bouchard. The league said dates and times for the hearings have not yet been determined.

Both incidents occurred Saturday night during a scrimmage at the end of the game. Canucks win 3-2 against Edmonton in Vancouver.
McDavid received a match penalty when he slammed his stick into Garland’s head after players tangled as the clock wound down and the Oilers looked for the tying goal.
Myers also received a match penalty when he hit Bouchard in the face with his stick as the Edmonton defenseman approached him.
All other skaters on the ice received a minor penalty for roughing.
A match penalty is assessed when officials determine that a player intentionally injured – or attempted to injure – an opponent. The sanction carries an automatic suspension until the NHL commissioner rules.
