- I tried classic tuna sandwiches at Subway, Jimmy John’s, and Jersey Mike’s to find the best.
- Both Subway and Jersey Mike’s had decent deals, but there were problems with both.
- Jimmy John’s sandwich had a good balance of ingredients and perfect taste and texture.
I think ordering a tuna sub will always be a bit risky. Will the fish taste fresh enough? Will mayonnaise be slapped too much? Will the whole sandwich be a mess?
However, I have already found the best club sandwiches And best roast beef subs made to order, so in the name of research, I bought tuna from Jimmy John’s, Jersey Mike’s, and Subway to see which popular chain came out on top.
I made the sandwiches as similar as possible, starting with each chain’s default bun piled high with a mixture of tuna, mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomatoes. Subway and Jimmy John’s sandwiches also contained cucumber slices, which were not available at Jersey Mike’s.
Once home, I unwrapped each sandwich, noted some first impressions, and proceeded to compare.
