NRF 2025: Emerging technology is currently improving the retail shopping experience

AI was the headliner of NRF 2025: the major retail trade show in New York, but retailers are also leveraging other emerging forms of technology, all with the goal of providing an enhanced and seamless shopping experience.

CDWGina Cox, Senior Retail IT Advisor, recognized the many AI use cases in retailbut it also highlighted virtual humans and visual intelligence as valuable tools to improve the customer experience. Executives from other technology providers, such as Justin Honaman of AWSMatthieu Guiste Zebra Technologies and Carl Rysdon of Ricoh United Statesshare enthusiasm around AI, but they also tout the value of augmented reality and virtual realityas well as digital kiosks And point of sale systems.
