A host of A-list artists, including Kid Rock and country singer Jason Aldean, will travel to Washington, D.C., to perform at various presidential inauguration events this weekend. Trump Vance’s inaugural committee unveiled most of the lineup Wednesday.
Kid Rock, a longtime Trump supporter, and Billy Ray Cyrus will join Lee Greenwood and The Village People at the Make America Great Again rally at the Capital One Arena in downtown Washington on Sunday, along with a choir from Liberty University.
“The show is beautiful. I’m excited about it all,” Greenwood told The Associated Press Wednesday morning. “I am thrilled to once again sing for the President of the United States and especially for my friend Donald J. Trump.”
Aldean, a five-time Grammy nominee behind the controversial song “Try That in a Small Town,” is set to perform at the Liberty Ball on Monday night, alongside the Village People and a “surprise musical guest.”
Monday’s inauguration ceremony will feature previously announced performers Carrie Underwood, singing “America the Beautiful,” opera tenor Christopher Maccio performing the national anthem and Greenwood. Here are three inaugural balls.
“I love our country and am honored to have been invited to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said in a statement Monday.
Country band Rascal Flatts will perform at the military-focused Commander in Chief’s Ball along with Texas-based singer-songwriter Parker McCollum.
Rascal Flatts frontman Gary LeVox wrote on Instagram that he was “happy, humbled and grateful for this opportunity.” LeVox performed at Trump’s first inauguration and promised it would be an “unforgettable evening,” thanking South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem for her post.
The Starlight Ball, aimed at the most generous donors, will feature a performance by Gavin DeGraw, a singer-songwriter best known for the song “I Don’t Want to Be,” which was used as the show’s theme song CW “A hill of trees.”
Trump’s first inauguration in 2017 included performances by the Rockettes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and 16-year-old “America’s Got Talent” singer Jackie Evancho.
