A Savannah-based company is helping people represent their roots. “I want people to be proud of where they come from,” Landon Harper said. Harper is the founder and owner of Local Native Clothing Company, a lifestyle brand launched in 2017 that celebrates where we come from. The clothing collection includes everything from shirts and hats to shorts and jackets. All items are made for people who have a passion and pride for their part of the country. “I really wanted to come home and collaborate with a local artist here in Savannah,” Harper said. “Her name is Tate Ellington and she does all of our prints for our shirts. She’s awesome and it just creates that unique factor for our items.” To learn more about Tate Ellington and her works, follow her on Facebook and Instagram. Harper, a Georgia Southern University graduate, started his business modestly. At first it was a part-time job, but last year he dedicated himself to his passion full-time. The Local Native Clothing Company can now be found online and at various festivals and stores throughout the Southeast. Harper is making it a priority to bring more products and new designs to her growing fashion fan base. “It’s so rewarding to see someone wearing one of your shirts or one of your hats,” Harper said.
