As the flames continue to ravage Los AngelesMexico announced Saturday that it had sent firefighters to help.
In a social media post, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said the group left Saturday morning.
“We are a generous and united country,” she wrote.
“You carry with you the courage and the heart of Mexico.”
Friday, the Wildfires in British Columbia Service announced it is deploying a leadership team to help fight the Los Angeles wildfires, at the request of the California Fire Department.
Prime Minister David Eby confirmed the deployment in a social media post, adding that the team would “depart imminently”.
“We are also working to send ground teams as part of a national response,” Eby said.
