Hunter Wilson is a graduate of Faulkner University, where he earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree and was honored at the Marketplace Faith Friday 2024 forums as an accomplished alumnus for the Harris College of Business.
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2017, Wilson was so pleased with his experience at Faulkner that he pursued and completed his Master of Business Administration in 2018.
“I had a great experience at Faulkner. The small class size allowed me to have a good understanding of the material while requiring me to be very involved in each lesson. The relationships I was able to build with my professors and peers taught me how to work with others in a professional environment, a rare skill in many workplaces I encountered,” Wilson said.
“My education and professors at Faulkner laid the foundation for my career. I learned to work hard, ask questions and always seek to learn from my experiences. The professors taught me how to build relationships with my superiors, which has been an invaluable tool in my career,” Wilson added. “They also held me accountable for my faith. This is something I am eternally grateful for. Faulkner and the staff here showed me how to cultivate my faith and stay top of mind every day. Chapel showed me that no matter how busy my day seems, it is important to spend that time in my faith daily.
He began his professional career in public accounting, specializing in tax and financial accounting. After four years, he moved to RemTerra, where he currently serves as Controller, focusing primarily on tax planning and consulting. “At RemTerra, we provide tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth families,” Wilson said. “I oversee the accounts payable for the projects we develop for clients. I enjoy the challenges each client presents and finding different ways to preserve capital.
