Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, January 7 announcement it will award $1 million in grants to 14 states and Washington, D.C., to participate in the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Medicaid Demonstration Program. The program provides states with sustainable funding to help them expand access to mental health and substance abuse services.
The final states selected are Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and West Virginia. Participants must ensure that patients have access to a full range of services that provide care coordination, integrate evidence-based practices, and provide support based on an assessment of community needs, including crisis services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
