Good Day Oklahoma’s Wayne Stafford sits down with Integris’ Dr. Kesinger to talk healthy living resolutions

Healthy Living Resolutions for the New Year

Recommendations:

1) Aim for 5 servings of fruit and/or vegetables per day –

2) Increase fiber-rich foods

3) Increase water consumption

4) Allow adequate rest and sleep

5) Try to exercise more

6) Schedule an annual well check

1 – About 10% of Americans eat the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables: try to eat 1 to 2 vegetables at each meal, including breakfast.

2-Foods rich in fiber contribute to intestinal health and reduce the risk of colon cancer

3 -The goal is clear urine

4 – Rest allows the mind and body to heal – a bedtime and wake-up routine can help

5 – The goal is 2.5 hours per week – but even short bursts of walking have been shown to improve heart health.

6 – Working with your healthcare provider for routine screenings can prolong your life by catching problems before they become a problem.
