Now that “Yellowstone” has wrapped its final episodes, Taylor Sheridan and the team of the hit western are focusing on Michelle Pfeiffer “The Madison.”
“Yellowstone” executive producer Christina Voros told The Hollywood Reporter that the team has moved away from the main series and is focusing its efforts on the new spinoff.
“The team I work with went from ‘Yellowstone’ to ‘The Madison,’ so I know a new series is in the works, and Taylor is excited to write it,” Voros said in December.
MICHELLE PFEIFFER STAR IN ‘YELLOWSTONE’ SPINOFF ‘THE MADISON’: ‘EXCITED FOR THIS!’
There have been reports about “Yellowstone” season 6, with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, is not excluded.
Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about Sheridan’s latest series, “The Madison.”
“The Madison”
Pfeiffer is the latest star to join the “Yellowstone” universe.
The 66-year-old actress will lead the spinoff show of the hit flagship series “The Madison,” for which she will also serve as executive producer, Variety reported.
Pfeiffer confirmed the casting news in a message she shared on his Instagram in August.
“It’s out of the bag. I’m excited for this! #Madison,” she captioned her post.
Sheridan will write “The Madison,” which follows a family from New York who live in the Madison River Valley of central Montana, according to the Paramount Network, via Variety.
The network described “The Madison” as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection.”
Is “The Madison” a “Yellowstone” spin-off?
Although the upcoming series is considered a “spin-off” of “Yellowstone,” Voros told Variety that this series is different from the original western, which starred Kevin Costner.
“It’s such a different story. The one thing in common is the landscape,” she told the outlet in November.
“We’re in Montana, but we’re looking at it from a completely different perspective. So it feels like another side of this cut stone that’s been polished. There are parallels in the scope of the landscape and the place of the human being in this space, but we approach it from a completely different point of view.”
The cast
In August, Paramount announced that Pfeiffer would play the lead role in “The Madison.”
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues each role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace. She is the perfect anchor for the new chapter in the Yellowstone universe, The Madison, from the mind brilliant by Taylor Sheridan,” Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and chairman and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement to Variety at the time.
In August, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Matthew Fox would star alongside Pfeiffer.
Fox will play Paul, a “sufficient single guy who loves the outdoors.”
“Suits” star Patrick J. Adams will also appear in the series.

Elle Chapman and Beau Garrett will play Pfeiffer’s daughters, Paige and Abigail. Adams will play Russell McIntosh, Paige’s investment banker husband.
Chapman went to Instagram in August to announce the news that she had joined “The Madison” and wrote, “I guess dreams really do come true.”
Is Matthew McConaughey involved?
According to Variety, “The Madison” is the series that was previously planned for “2024.”
It was previously announced that Matthew McConaughey would direct a “Yellowstone” spin-off.
Last fall, it was announced that Sheridan’s television universe was expanding with two new shows, initially called “2024” and “1944.” The spin-offs join “Yellowstone” prequels, “1923” starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, which releases its second season in February 2025, and “1883,” starring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, which has one season available to stream .
