Gal Gadot revealed she underwent emergency brain surgery in February after discovering a “massive” blood clot while pregnant with her fourth daughter, Ori.

THE Wonder Woman the star, 39, opened up about her health struggles in a moving Instagram post on Sunday, explaining that she chose to share her story as a way to both “process it all” and “raise awareness and support others” who might suddenly find themselves in similar situations.

“In February, during my eighth month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a huge blood clot in my brain. For weeks, I endured excruciating, bedridden headaches, until I finally had an MRI that revealed the terrifying truth,” Gadot wrote. “At some point, my family and I were confronted with the fragility of life. It was a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change, and in the midst of a difficult year, all I wanted to do was hold on and live.

THE Red Notice The actress, who shares four daughters with husband Jaron Varsano, explained that she was then rushed to the hospital “and within hours I underwent emergency surgery” to treat the clot. She added: “My daughter, Ori, was born during this moment of uncertainty and fear. »

Gadot noted that she has since recovered from the terrifying incident. “Thanks to an extraordinary team of doctors at @cedarssinai and weeks of dedicated care, I survived and began the road to recovery,” she continued. “Today I am completely healed and filled with gratitude for the life that was given back to me.”

She also shared what the health crisis has taught her. “First, it is essential to listen to our body and trust what it tells us. Pain, discomfort, or even subtle changes often have deeper meaning, and listening to your body can save lives,” Gadot wrote. “Secondly, awareness is important. I didn’t know that 3 in 100,000 pregnant women in the 30+ age group are diagnosed with CVT (develop a blood clot in the brain).

CVT, or cerebral venous thrombosis, is described by Boston Children’s Hospital as a “rare but serious condition” that occurs when a blood clot blocks the flow of blood through the veins of the brain. In her message, Gadot stressed that it was important to identify the disease as early as possible because it is treatable.

“Although rare, it is a possibility, and knowing it exists is the first step in addressing it.” Sharing this is not meant to scare anyone but to empower,” she concluded. “If even one person feels obliged to act for their health because this story will have been worth sharing.

Alongside her post, Gadot shared an image of herself lying in a hospital bed and breastfeeding one of her children. Although the comments section of the post has since been limited, it is filled with messages of love and support to fans and friends, including January Jones And Sacha Baron Cohenwho both commented red heart emojis.

His comrade Justice League costar Jason Momoawrote: “Oh mom, we love you.” While Meadow Walker, Gadot’s daughter Fast and Furious costar Paul Walkeradded: “We love you.”
