CHARLEVOIX COUNTY, Michigan. (WPBN/WGTU) – – Staff at Boyne Mountain in Charlevoix County say the season is opening with new technology on the slopes.
Maintenance workers can now check the status of snow guns on their phone.
“People were very hesitant this year. With last year’s snowfall, people were hesitant to book, but the snowfall we had earlier this year and our new snowmaking technology really helped exceed our guests’ expectations and attract people,” said Boyne Mountain Comptroller Cindy Johnson-Minkwic. “We’re having a great, busy season so far, and we hope it continues throughout.”
Boyne Mountain will host its annual torchlight parade and fireworks display on New Year’s Eve.
