The University of Tulsa has announced that it planned to use its stadium for concerts thanks to a partnership with The Oak View Group. Keller Taylor, vice-president of the group, spoke to us more with the New Deal.

Q: What is the Oak View group?

“We manage public assets for people like the city of Tulsa and are an entertainment company that operates in around 400 different places in North America, but also abroad.”

Q: What inspired Oak View’s partnership with the University of Tulsa?

“The success of the DEF Leppard, Motley Crue, in August 2023, inspired us to continue to have conversations with the University of Tulsa about the football stadium when we arrived in town in 2023. So we succeeded in the success with that coupled with the new leadership in athletics with Moore Moore, and then we were able to capitalize and make it an official partnership where we can, Hopefully, a few shows, and we were then capitalizing. “

Q: What was the reaction of the community to the 2023 concert?

“I think what we have heard from the community is that we want these biggest shows in town, and we therefore have an excellent asset with you that we can maximize by using relations here locally with Oak View Group as well as on a national scale.”

Q: Why Chapman Stadium?

“It is more seats that anyone can offer on the market, and therefore 30,000 seats allow us the next caliber of the stadium law, so that will put us online with all the other stadium shows through the Midwest Upper.”

Q: When will the concerts be?

“We are considering spring mainly to target the shows, after the school release, when the athlete students are probably outside campus, so that we can make more facilities available to concert promoters and not disturb normal activities.”

The director of athletics of the University of Tulsa, Justin Moore, sent news out of 6 this declaration:

“We are delighted to collaborate with the Oak View Group to bring concerts to the Ha Chapman stadium. The enthusiasm surrounding the concert in 2023 was incredible, and we want to rely on this momentum. We are impatient to work with the Oak View group and to use their expertise when we extend the opportunities for events at the University of Tulsa.”
