After three years in Freeport, G&T Sports Cards Plus will soon have a new house a few kilometers to the north.
According to owner Tyler Tyler Huth (Route 356) in the 309 South Pike Road (Route 356), the shop should move to 309 South Pike Road (Route 356) in the canton of Buffalo.
The reason for this decision, said Huth, is practical: parking.
Regularly inheriting commercial events which attract more than 150 people, Huth said that he simply needed more space for customers and their vehicles.
Although he said that a piece of his heart will remain in Freeport, he is looking forward to moving to his hometown and a space with a “more modern sensation”.
Regular customers, who, according to Huth, had frequently raised the issue of parking, supported his decision to move.
“We had the chance to build a very cool and faithful clientele,” he said.
In addition to his shop, G&T Arcade de Huth will also move in the new space. The Arcade offers a variety of traditional games, including the pinball machine, claw machines and ticket collection games.
This decision will coincide with another new addition to the G&T company, said Huth. The owner bought a trailer to serve as a mobile store during events such as carnivals and producer markets, he said.
Buffalo canton supervisor Mike Oehling said he was happy to see a “local” entrepreneur opening a business in the canton.
The new store, he said, will be good for the tax plate and for the community.
“I couldn’t be more proud of him,” said Oehling.
For the big opening, Huth said he hoped to plan a “fun event”, but the details are still in preparation.
The location of Freeport will remain open until Friday with the new store that will open on Tuesday.
