A new golf simulator and a place of entertainment called The sand trap is planned in Brookfield at 17780 W. Bluemound Road. The sand trap will occupy a space of 4,500 square feet and have three golf simulator bays, a bar, one or two pool tables, dart boards and a retail golf store. The place will also offer golf instruction with a PGA certified coach and will organize events such as league game, group lessons, young people and community events, according to documents in the city of Brookfield. The objective is to create a destination where people of all ages can take advantage of golf, events and leisure throughout the year, according to the request filed with the city of Brookfield. The sand trap should open its doors in the fall or winter this year. The place will be open Monday to Thursday from noon to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to midnight and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. open, the sand trap plans to start phase two of its construction, which would double its footprint in the building. The remaining space would include additional simulation berries and an interior leisure space with leaves designed to imitate an outdoor frame with cornhole tracks, picnic style seats and a small green putting, depending on the city’s documents. Phase two would allow instead of welcoming larger tournaments and championship events, cornhole competitions, theme nights and family activities. The Brookfield city plan commission will examine the project at its meeting this evening. (Gallery size = “full” td_select_gallery_slide = “slide” ids = “615317,615318”))
