The executive of the county of New Prince George promises the unit, the best deals

On Wednesday, she took an oath in private, but Thursday, the director of the county of Prince George, Aisha Braveboy, celebrated his inauguration at the University of Maryland, College Park.

The Alma Mater of Largo High School is UMD, and she later admitted that she had also chosen Juneteenth for a reason.

Its inauguration was a two -hour and a half case, with almost the first hour entirely devoted to prayer and Gospel music. There have also been cries and praise of her sorority sisters, and actress Taraji P. Henson, originally from Prince George County, also spoke.

Braveboy then put himself in business, recognizing the county faces several challenges, while promising to be a voice for those who do not have them. She said leadership was unified to deal with these challenges in a county often assaulted by small political resentments.

“This means that our personal interests must be subordinate to the interest of the people,” she told the hundreds who gathered for the celebration.

During her speech, she addressed the need to focus on the beautification of the county and the maintenance of the clean streets without detritus. She is also committed to focusing on economic development.

“We have to become more competitive as a county,” she said. “It starts with embellishment because you want to be able to attract investments, a good investment.”

Subsequently, Braveboy said that she was going to establish more details on her plan of 100 days later this month, but promised that the notoriously thick administrative formalities of the county would be treated.

“We have set up our heads of transition teams from the interior of the government and the external government to really focus on the rationalization of the zoning process as well as the license process,” she told journalists. “I will be focused on the laser on this, because this is what prevents us from getting out of the game for some of the major development projects. We simply take too long to build here in Prince George County. ”

Braveboy said it would be done in a legislative way, but without the use of a working group that studies the problem – because so many problems are otherwise resolved.

“What you will see is a County of Prince George, respectful of business, who always respects the community, includes the community and goes ahead with development,” she said. “We are in a structural deficit. We can get out. It is a part of our fact by really not being able to follow time. And so we are not going to be second to another jurisdiction when it comes to being able to advance major developments. ”

During her speech, she also discussed another project that the county has long set up on economic development – the new FBI headquarters. President Donald Trump clearly indicated that the project is nixé by his administration. But Braveboy predicts that the county would prevail.

“We have interesting people who run the government right now, but … they will not be there forever,” she said. “We will be. We will be and we will therefore keep our eyes on the price. ”

“We can wait for them!” She added.

The principal speaker was the governor of Maryland Wes Moore, who described Braveboy as intrepid and said that his administration would continue to be a solid partner for the county.

“You have the full support of this administration and the full support of all this state,” said Moore. “The challenges we face at the moment are enormous, and we also know that leaders do not choose moments. Moments choose the leaders. And at the moment, with so many things at stake, we need the executive of the county Aisha Braveboy.”
