One of the measles was confirmed by an international traveler who recently arrived in the DC region, the DC Ministry of Health announced on Saturday evening.
The patient may have exhibited other people between June 8 and 12. The health service contacts people known to have been in areas where they have been exposed.
Here are the dates, times and locations of potential exhibitions, according to health officials:
- Dulles International Airport (IAD) – June 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Hall A, on transport to the International Arrivals Building (IAB) and in the luggage complaint area
- Metro – June 8 from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm: Delles Airport Silver Line Train, transferring to the Metro Center to a red line train towards Shady Grove
- The Russian School of Mathematics (8401 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase, Maryland) – June 8 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Metrobus – June 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.:: L8 Route to southern towards Friendship Heights

The measles is very contagious and “spreads easily in the air when an infected person breathes, touches or sneezes,” said DC Health in a press release.
Symptoms generally develop in two stages, said DC Health. “During the first stage, which begins 7 to 14 days after exposure, individuals often experience a fever greater than 101 ° F, as well as a flowing nose, red, aqueous eyes and a cough. The second step occurs 3 to 5 days after the start of the initial symptoms, when a distinctive rash appears on the face and is gradually spreading to the rest of the body.
Anyone who could have been exposed and which is not safe must contact its medical supplier or DC Health at 844-493-2652.
