The British Columbia Government began an advertising blitz in three American states to recruit American doctors and nurses in the province.
The six -week campaign includes printed, video, digital, on social and audio networks and started in Washington, Oregon and parts of California on Monday.
The province is targeting display panels, transit shelters, carpooling screens and businesses within 16 kilometers from a health care establishment and medical commercial publications. Together, he hopes to reach 80% of Heatlh care workers in his target areas.

͞ ”Our message to doctors, nurses and allied health officers is strong and clear: there has never been a better time to come to British Columbia, and for Canadian health professionals who live and are currently working in the United States, it is now time to go home,” said the Minister of Health, Josie Osborne.
“With chaos and uncertainty that occur in the United States, we take the opportunity to attract the talents we need to join and strengthen our universal health care system in British Columbia.”

This decision comes as the province is working with regulatory colleges for doctors and nurses to rationalize recognition of American diplomas.

In April, the BC College of Nurses and Midwives made changes that will allow an American nurse to register in a few days rather than a few months. The provincial college of doctors and surgeons is currently working on regulations changes that would allow doctors to train in British Columbia without having to take other license exams.
The ministry says that since its announcement, this plan in March, 704 doctors and 525 nurses have contacted with interest to move to British Columbia
The province said last month that it had already hired 113 American nurses.
The ministry said on Friday that work also includes “tailor -made support and advice” for American health workers trying to navigate the process of demand and immigration.
