
It is essential to understand business on a global scale and the LMU College of Business Administration guarantees that its students are ready to direct in any corner of the world. During the academic year 2024-2025, the college expanded its international offers by associating with World Academic VenturesGive students new opportunities to expand their global perspective.
Sixteen undergraduate trade students participated in this immersive program and a semester, which combines intensive academic courses in Sydney, Australia, with full-time courses in dynamic business centers across Southeast Asia and Oceania.
Students started eight weeks of lessons at the Sydney University of Technology before moving to internships in cities like Auckland, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney. The host companies included organizations recognized worldwide such as DHL, Estée Lauder, Allianz, Weber Shandwick, Bank of Sydney and Financial Times.
“Our first year of participation in Global Academic Ventures was a great success,” said Dayle Smith, dean of the LMU College of Business Administration. “The real value of the program is the possibility for students to take courses in Sydney, then immediately apply this knowledge during an internship abroad. They experience first of all what it means to be a young professional on a world market. ”
Naia Ayau ’25, a recent graduate in finance, interned in commercial analysis and intelligence at Weber Shandwick in Singapore, where she perfected her technical and analytical skills. “I have acquired experience of carrying out a qualitative analysis, the realization of quantitative comparisons and the creation of information on visual data through graphics and calculations,” she said.
Lauren Ott, an ISBA major who was an IT trainee at the Banque de Sydney, stressed the value of the international exhibition in the workplace. “I helped the team with commercial analysis tasks such as requirement, analysis of banking data and collaboration between the departments. It was incredibly rewarding to apply what I learned in my ABC lessons to real situations. ”
Marketing Major Taylor Blackwood worked as a retail trainee in Estee Lauder companies in Sydney, focusing on clinical and Aveda brands. His internship responsibilities included the support of educational initiatives for estheticians, helping to coordinate the launch of Clinique X Priceline influence Press, and participate in the company’s end -of -year conference, where the teams celebrated the achievements and presented 2026 product launches.
“I was able to transform my skills into Excel class into usable information at the workplace,” said Taylor. “I deepened my knowledge from Excel, while being confident in tools like the MySQL, Table and Adobe applications. Beyond technical skills, I improved my communication, my interfunctional collaboration and time management – general critical skills that have shaped my daily work. ”
