“Thirty-two illegal firearms that have been removed from the streets,” he said. “And out of the 24 that we have so far received information on tracing, 23 have returned as from the United States of America, with one by Canada.”
The investigation began in October 2024, when the police began investigating the activities surrounding a 31 -year -old man from Richmond Hill who was a “key actor” in drug trafficking throughout GTA, according to Det. SGT. Sean Whittaker.

“As the investigation progressed, the police discovered a sophisticated criminal network responsible for the distribution of large quantities of raw fentanyl and the street, as well as firearms, through the region,” Whittaker told journalists on Wednesday.
“Recognizing the threat that this has posed, an internal working group nicknamed a chatter of the project was created to target and dismantle this network aggressively.
“Project Chatter discovered a very organized and well -equipped network.”
Whittaker said that the survey had revealed that “key suppliers, distribution centers and places that have cooked or cutting fentanyl for the sale at the street”.
He noted that most of the operations were in Richmond Hill, but there were also other locations in the Grand Toronto region.
This survey led to 200 officers serving 15 houses on May 4 where they seized 32 illegal firearms and a large amount of medication, including more than 700,000 doses of fentanyl with a street value of more than $ 7 million, and seized more than $ 130,000 in Canadian currency and $ 18,000 in American currency.
Since then, police have said they had deposited more than 300 accusations of drugs, weapons and crimes organized against 23 people from all over GTA, Brantford and Niagara Falls.
