ROCHESTER, NY – The men’s hockey team RIT announced the 2025-26 calendar on Wednesday.
The Tigers have currently 34 in total competitions scheduled for the coming season, including 14 dates at the Gene Polisseni Center as well as the annual competition of Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend in Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester opposite Clarkson. Rit will also move internationally for the first time in the history of the program to play two games during friendship four in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
“I am excited for the coming season and I can’t wait to take over the ice,” said the first-year head coach Matt Thomassuccessful Wayne Wilson After his retirement last month after a 26 seasons race behind the Tiger bench. “We all have a lot to hope for in this year’s calendar, including an excellent non -conference programming that will literally take places we have never been before, while our AHA program will challenge us as well as we will seek to take another race in a championship.”
Rit should currently start the 63rd year in the history of the program from October 10 to 11 with an American double hockey hockey (AHA) opposite Visit Sacred Heart, before taking Clarkson in the 18th match of Brick City (October 18). The tigers will then entertain Air Force (October 24 to 25) for an AHA set before hitting the road for two games without League in Colgate (October 31-Nov. 1).
Rit will start String of Six for Straight Conference Games welcoming Mercyhurst (November 7-8) before going to Robert Morris (November 14-15) for two games and Niagara (November 18) and Bentley (November 21) for simple competitions.
The Tigers will join Sacred Heart, Miami (Ohio) and Union in Northern Ireland (November 28-29) for two games each on Thanksgiving weekends, with pairs to be determined.
Rit returns to the GPC to launch a home series with Aha-Rival Canisius (December 5-6) before taking a three-week vacation break. The Tigers will then go to Clarkson (December 29) before starting the new year with a series at home opposite Penn State (January 2-3), including a date of Saturday at the GPC.
Rit will welcome Robert Morris (January 9-10) for an AHA double head, before another series at home against Canisius (January 16-17) which begins in Buffalo. The Tigers will face the Niagara the following weekend (January 23-24), welcoming the Purple Eagles Friday before hitting the road on Saturday.
Rit goes to Mercyhurst (January 30-31) and the army (February 6-7) for the consecutive doublesheadis aha road, before welcoming Niagara (February 10) the following Tuesday and Bentley (February 20) to close the home part of the regular season calendar. The Tigers will then finish the regular season with two conference games in Holy Cross (February 27-28) to prepare for the playoffs.
AHA in the playoffs will start with matches in the first round (March 3), followed by the quarter-final series (March 6-8) and the semi-final (March 13-15) and the AHA championship match (March 21). All matches will be played at the upper seed rink. The 10 teams make the tournament in the playoffs with the first six seeds which earn a bye in the first round.
