It is a precarious period for science in the United States. Federal funding is reduced, career scientists are dismissed and researchers plan to go to work abroad. In addition to that, public confidence in science and experts has decreased. In addition to recognizing federal attacks against science, many scientists are also wondering: what are we doing about it? How can we engage the public? And what could we do better?
