A drunk woman behind the wheel in an accident who killed three young men in British Columbia and Alberta pleaded guilty in their death.
Haley Jade Watson, who is 23 years old this year, faced three counts of Driving with weakened faculties causing death and three dangerous leaders of driving causing death in the collision of July 9, 2024.
Jackson Freeman, 25, of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Gavin Murray, 21, from Wilmer, British Columbia, and Brady Tardif, 25, from Calgary, died when the truck in which they was driving left the highway and a WestSide Road set up to Panorama Drive in Wilmer.

A Coroners report indicates that the truck was traveling at more than 115 km / h in an area of 60 km / h when it failed to sail in a curve on the road.
The police said that speed and poisoning were factors in the accident, which left Toyota Tundra’s wreck.

Watson was hospitalized but survived.
In a courtroom in Cranbrook on Monday, she pleaded guilty to a single driving leader with weakened faculties, causing the death which was modified to include the three deaths.
“We have become guilty of all our boys, so we have had very good justice today – we now hope that the judge will do what the judges must do and store it for a long time,” said Karen Lloyd, Brady Tardiff’s mother.
“Great, it’s a good day.”

Janet Dahl Freeman, Jackson Freeman’s mother, said the plea would not bring his son back, but was an important step towards justice.
“It is good to know that she pleaded guilty. It is unfortunate that we have not seen any sign of remorse of her, but the plea of guilt is a step in the right direction,” she said.
“It was a long haul, a very long transport for family, friends and everyone.”
The court has now ordered a prior report.
Watson had to return to court on August 18, and family members told them to expect a sentence determination hearing in September.
