Surveys carried out in recent years, Norton Healthcare * has revealed that uncomfortable conversations on insurance and the ability to pay for medical expenses often prevent individuals from looking for essential medical care. In 2024, the first full year Norton Healthcare offered an extended financial assistance program, nearly 1,500 people qualified to receive assistance in the first quarter only. This year, this number increased to 2,247 in the first quarter. However, there are more that can be eligible and Norton Healthcare encourages these people to request financial assistance. Families can apply at any time for the program and do not have to wait until there is a medical emergency.
The plan covers the emergency in a hospital environment or other medically necessary care. As an additional additional for those who are eligible, Norton Healthcare also helps office visits with Norton health care providers and Norton Healthcare Pharmacies medicines.
“Our mission calls us to provide health care that meets the needs of our community,” said Russell F. Cox, president and chief executive officer, Norton Healthcare. “We want to help as many people as possible to benefit from the program so that their goal can make fun, stay well and be healthy.”
Households with total income equal to or less than 350% of federal poverty directives may be eligible for financial aid. This percentage is equivalent to $ 112,525 in household combined income for a family of four. Those who are eligible can request financial assistance before planning to search for health services, and the assistance amount is approved for a full year. After qualifying, financial assistance can be applied to previous medical invoices up to two years.
Anyone can apply online in the fields of patients Nortonhealthcare.com; request a paper application, which is available in several languages; apply with a representative by phone to (502) 479-6300; Or visit a hospital in person to speak with a financial advisor. Those who participate in the program can reapply each year.
The program requires three months of bank statements, which may include prepaid bank card readings such as those offered via Chime or Direct Express.
Those who are pre-approved for financial aid will receive a verification letter. Residents of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Tennessee can be pre-approved to financial assistance for emergency or medically necessary care.
Eligible families can request help, even if they have not gone to a Norton health establishment in the past and that they are insurance. Using a third party, Norton Healthcare will continue to help patients who are not assured to apply for Medicaid.
For those whose household income excludes them from this program, Norton Healthcare has additional routes for financial assistance.
