It is a universally recognized truth: the lines are the worst part of the amusement parks.
Of course, too many $ 8 Bretzels can empty your budget, but there is something particularly trying in the tail for popular driving by a sticky summer day.
There could however be a solution: artificial intelligence. The new technology of all kinds transforms the experience of the theme park in the United States, which contributes to stimulating industry growth.
Among the themed parks that have left new technologies is Legoland.
“We use a technology called Vision AI,” said Adrian Thompson, director of transformation of operations for the parent company of Legoland, Merlin Entertainments, Business Insider. “We have cameras placed on our attractions that analyze the number of people who physically drive these attractions at a given moment. This does not identify you in a unique way, but it identifies the number of people who drive an attraction.”

Thompson said that IA integration into attraction lines allows driving managers to receive real -time data, mitigate problems or potential delays.
“If they see anomalies in these data – the number of dispatches has reduced or the queues have increased – they can act at this time and make changes,” said Thompson. “Before, when everything was based on paper, we did not have access to all these data in real time. You may not have obtained this information before the end of the day, how late it is to have an impact on customer experience.”
New Tech brings the Arctic in Florida
About 40 miles north of Legoland Sea of seaWhere Expedition Odyssey opened up to the public last month. Expedition Odyssey is an immersive flying theater ride that carries the guests in the Arctic using real images of frozen landscapes and fauna.
“There is no CGI in it,” said Bi Bi. “The standard on these types of driving has always been to generate with animation or CGI effects for a travel film.”

Instead, SeaWorld sent teams equipped with custom -made goal cameras and drones during Arctic expeditions to capture videos.
“For us, it is not only an experience in the themed park. It is also this zoological aspect,” said Carr. “We don’t want to sit in an office and draw a Beluga whale. We want to show them a real one.”
Although authentic images help to distinguish the expedition of its peers, Carr said that there was another reason for which he called it “most advanced conduct” technologically “.
A typical flying theater implies that the guests entering their seats, taking advantage of the show and out before another group can enter. Expedition Odyssey uses a main rotary tower that allows customers to load the ride while another is already looking at the images. Once the walk is finished, the tower will turn mainly and the groups will change space.
“This allows us to keep the moving line and procedures as you would see on a subcontractor, but on a brand new type of driving that generally does not allow it,” said Carr.

Carr has said that another way clients interact with new SeaWorld and Busch Gardens themed parks is to include audio and visual aspects of the line.
“This is what Penguin Trek does,” said Carr, referring to a roller coaster in Orlando park. “When you ship the journey, you have special effects and lights that give you the impression of being in a cave of falling ice.”
This technology is also in Busch Gardens, where customers can mount the Russian Phoenix Rising Mountains, which uses media, light and audio screens on board.
Augmented reality and Lego Ferraris
At SeaWorld, Carr said that 3D digitization has become a reliable tool for repairs and the creation of models.
“It is not only the replacement of the roller coaster. We use 3D digitization everywhere,” said Carr. “The technology has been incredible for new projects like Penguin Trek and Expedition Odyssey.”
Another type of technology becoming more widespread in amusement parks, including Legoland California and Legoland in Florida.
The Lego Ferrari Build & Race attraction allows customers to build and test cars, then use augmented reality to scan them and run them practically. Practical activities are a priority for Legoland themed parks, where the Ninjago Ride uses hand monitoring movements that allow runners to use hand -to -test gestures to test their skills.

“The beauty for us is that we will always have practical experiences because it is Lego,” said Thompson.
Carr said SeaWorld and Busch Gardens have a similar approach, given their animal conservation efforts. “The mission is to inspire and educate right next to saving all animals,” he said.
In the United States, other themed parks also bend their sense of technology, including Disney, which has teamed up with Nvidia and Google Deepmind Develop Newton. The Open Source physics will help robots learning to sail more precisely the tasks.
Disney intends to use technology to improve robotic characters in its themed parks to be more realistic.
“This collaboration will allow us to create a new generation of robotic characters which are more expressive and engaging than ever before – and to connect with our guests in a way that only Disney can,” said Kyle Laughlin, main vice -president of research and development of Walt Disney Imagineering, in a press release.
Themed parks sail on prices
Although the attractions industry continues to attract guests from around the world, volatility caused by Trump administration prices has become an unpredictable obstacle.
“New prices will make products securing – such as games, plush and goods made outside the United States – more expensive to import. Before the rate increases, some operators have created an additional storage space and have taken possession of goods earlier in the season than they imported in the past to avoid prices”, the International Company of Amusement Parks and attractions indicated this month.
The association said the prices also reached the American relationship with Canada, potentially affecting Presence at themed park This summer.
“Also worrying for several American installations: a softening in zest to travel south by Canadians who are used to spending their summers in the United States. The current political climate between the two nations can harm the feeling of traveling in the coming months,” said IAAPA.
However, uncertainty did not prevent companies from embarking on ambitious projects. Universal’s new theme park, Epic universeOpen to the fanfare this month in Florida, while Disney announced its intention to develop its Seventh themed park in Abu Dhabi.
