It is not easy to be amphibious: the loss and pollution of the habitat ended up the amphibians in danger in the world. Join us to find out more about two Californian notable species faced with threats to survival. The fauna biologist, Vince Semonsen, will share natural history and survey stories about the California red leg frog (our state amphibian) and the locally endemic Californian tiger salamander.

Semonsen worked with the US Fish & Wildlife Student Service Study of black foot in Wyoming and Clapper Rails along the Colorado River before settling in Santa Barbara. In addition to 35 years of experience as a biological consultant and environmental instructor, he has participated in numerous surveys of sensitive species, catering and management plans, as well as monitoring and compliance to protect vulnerable species.

No tickets or reservations required, but be sure to reach Dargan Early to guarantee a seat, order your favorite food and drink, and buy a raffle ticket to support science education and win a museum swag.

This event is part of Santa Barbara Natural History MuseumThe series of scientific scientific discussions underway on free scientific conferences held on the second Monday of each month. For more information on science pub, contact Kelsey Perry in kperry@sbnure2.org.
