Yankton, SD (Dakota News Now) – Mount Marty University will launch the first regulatory science program of the region’s graduates to train future leaders in the pharmaceutical, biotechnological and medical industries.
The program will be fully online, 30 credits and will start this fall.
“This program is sensitive to a critical need for labor at the private industry interface and government regulations designed to protect public health,” said professor and executive director Mark Brown, Ph.D.
The program is taught by industry professionals, who help students from science and trade history to learn real experiences of people in the labor market.
David Pearce, Ph.D., president of the research consortium on international diseases and member of the Biotechnology program for Mount Marty graduates, played a key role in the development of the program.
“Having well -trained regulatory experts in our region is particularly important in the approval of therapies for rare diseases, which often cross unique regulatory paths,” said Pearce.
Mount Marty’s new regulatory science program is part of a growing range of graduates health science programs to improve human life, access to health care and global health disparities.
