ST. Lawrence Seaway, New York (Wwny) – If you are a ship observer on the St. Lawrence River, this ship can draw your attention.

The Canadian Vectis Progress ship has new aerodynamic technologies produced by the British company GT Wings.

The Airwing captures the energy of the wind and converts it in that the company says a powerful thrust to move the ship, reducing carbon emissions from the ship and the use of fuel.

Currently, technology cannot be used in the Saint-Laurent seaway.

GT Wings CEO George Thompson said that the company was collecting data now to show managers how it is.

“These regulations Move Slowly, so We’re Not Expecting Things to Change Very Quickly. Although I think after a year of operation, we would like Likely be in a position to have these conversations with the St. Lawrence Seaway and Say, Look, We’ve Got the Data and We’ve Shown It’s SAFE AND SAFE AND SAFE AND SAFE AND SAFE There’s Very Minimal Risk in Using These Systems in the Seaway.

This is the first ship equipped with GT Wings technology, with more to come.

Thompson says that technology has made the ship from 8 to 12% more efficient, when it uses technology while traveling outside the Saint-Laurent seaway.
