This is the second time that Drone Racing has appeared at world games and for FAI, it is an important opportunity to present air sports in the outside world. With the next edition of the Games that take place in Chengdu in August 2025Projectors on emerging disciplines such as drone races should become even brighter.

“World Games are the most important competition for non -Olympic sports”, “ said Claus Cordes, president of German Aero Club (DAEC)who recently shared his opinions at the FAI General Conference.

“The multi-sport nature of global games presents opportunities and advantages that no other sports competition can offer.”

He underlines that the games of the world offer a unique platform for athletes, who find themselves in competition on an international scene alongside athletes of many different sports to an audience who will never have met air sports before.

“Opening and fence ceremonies are extraordinary dimensions for our athletes, in Birmingham, they were in front of 30,000 spectators and that left lasting impressions on those who participate.”

Markus Haggeney, Secretary General of FAI agrees and says that world games are also a way to introduce air sports in a younger demography. “Drone sports allow us to attract young and urban. Pilots can switch to high -level sports requiring significant skills, both physically and mentally. All these elements are integrated into a very substantial computer environment. And many active drivers in other air sports have started as an airbacling, it is therefore likely that drone races have a similar impact,” He adds.

Max Bishop, former secretary general of the FAI and former main vice-president of the International Association of World Games (IWGA)said that the accessibility of drone races is essential. “His attraction for the young generation is attractive from the point of view of the IWGA. With air sports as a whole, there has always been the problem of expenses – they can be quite expensive. It also involves a construction element, because almost all of these drone drivers build their own machines. ”

Haggeney adds that global games are not only important for drone races, but for other air sports. Some have previously appeared in world games and it is planned to encourage the return of parachuting for the 2029 Edition of the Games in Karlsruhe, Germany. “Parachutism is part of the backbone of air sports activities in the games of the world”. he said. “Technology is evolving and we hope to present electrical deposit plans in 2029 – technical development is already operational for a certain time. Other air sports could be offered for inclusion in the future editions of the Games.”

The World Games Drone Racing event, which begins on August 13, 2025, will be broadcast globally to this number of millions of people on social networks.

“The best performance at the best events always detect the general public”, ” Add cords. “Followers of other sports can be presented with ISP sports images and may be more likely to study. Improved visibility offers the possibility of winning more members.”

And bringing more people into air sports – for ISP, it can only be a good thing.
