That knowledge of normal pressure hydrocephalus
Hydrocephaly of normal pressure is one of the two types of hydrocephalus, an “abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid deep in the brain”, ” according to The American National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Cerebral Vascular Accidents.
The cerebrospinal fluid, or LCR, is the liquid that lives in the ventricles or the cavities of the brain which helps amortize the brain and the spinal cord. When the LCR flow is blocked in a way and the fluid accumulates in the ventricles, it causes normal pressure hydrocephalus, according to the Ninds.

Additional liquid in the brain can cause pressure and cause brain damage, as well as walking problems, bladder control and thinking and reasoning, according to Ninds.
Although this can happen at any age, normal pressure hydrocephalus is the most frequent in the elderly. It is most often diagnosed by a combination of neurological tests and brain imaging.
The best chances of recovery of hydrocephalus from normal pressure occur if it is diagnosed early and treated correctly.
The most common treatment for hydrocephalus in normal pressure, according to NINDs, is surgery.
In one option, doctors inserts a shunt in the brain, which connects to another tube under the skin to help drain the excess liquid of the brain. With this option, regular shunt monitoring is required and additional surgeries and repairs may be necessary.
A second surgical option for normal pressure hydrocephalus is the third endoscopic ventricomis, or EVT, where a doctor makes a hole at the bottom of the third ventricle in the brain, which allows the fluid to flow to relieve the pressure, according to the NANDS.
