STERLING, Ill. (KWQC) – A Sterling business got a big boost from the community to help spread holiday cheer to area children.

A local business was participating in a Toys for Tots campaign but was not receiving many donations. That’s when others, like Boss Roofing Experts, came to help us.

There are now enough toys to hand out for the ride.

Boss Roofing Experts owner Brick Boss said when he saw the campaign’s early totals, he knew they had to help.

“When I was a kid I knew it helped with my Christmases and I like helping things in the community because it’s something we shouldn’t really neglect,” Boss said.

The boss said he knew they could do something to help the 1,200 children who were each going to receive a toy.

“I just knew there was something we could do to get into the community and bring together the people we were reaching out to,” Boss said.

The toys collected during the collection will be distributed on Saturday.
