
The Inaugural Seicon event in 2024 presented this large contingent of the Falk College and the University of Syracuse. Representatives will again play important roles during Seicon II from July 8 to 10 in Las Vegas.

Based on the success of its inaugural year, Seicon moves to the legendary Bellagio Hotel, known for its fountains and its world class equipment. This year’s event will focus on the main emerging areas of industry, including women in sport and entertainment, motorsport and golf.

Seicon will include nearly 30 panel conversations and two speaker events. A speech is with the mayor of Oklahoma City, David Holt, who will become president of the American Conference of Mayors. The second Keynote features two alumni of Syracuse, the director of the new veterans and the Chris Licht ’93 media and the CEO of New York Post, Sean Giancola ’90, as well as a representative of Gannett / USA Today, the presentation sponsor of Seicon II.
Several members of the faculty will direct panels, including David B. Falk, professor of management of sport, including David B. Falk Rick Burton (The World Cup and the rise of the MLS: a new era for football); Deputy Professor of Sport Management Alexia Lopes (Women in the race); Director and undergraduate teacher Sports Analytics Rodney Paul (Get with the program: entrepreneurship); and professor of sports law John Wolohan (Post House – The future of university athletics).
Growing partnership
Connections between Falk College and UNLV Sports Innovation Institute continue to grow beyond the annual Seicon event.

Last March, the National Rugby League (NRL) of Australia opened its regular season With male and female matches at the alleging stadium in Las Vegas. Before these games, Seicon welcomed a Sports business Conference for the LNR at the Institute of Sports Innovation of the UNLV which included the signing of a partnership between Seicon and the Australian Network of Sports Technologies. Burton, Lopes and Paul attended the conference, and Paul was the moderator of a discussion on the Tech game book: Innovations for Shaping the Future of Sports.

Analysts predict that the global sports market reaches $ 2 billions of dollars, or 2% of the world economy of 100 billions of dollars, reinforced by an influx of money from new sources, emerging technologies and growing demand. David B. Falk College of Sport
On July 1, 2025, the University of Syracuse will make history by launching the David B. Falk College of Sport – the first college on a high research campus (R1) dedicated exclusively to disciplines related to sport. Appointed according to the visionary benefactor and legendary sports agent David B. Falk, this new college is at the intersection of academic excellence and industry innovation. The college will unite our distinguished programs in sport management, sports analysis, exercise science, nutrition and eSports (offered jointly with the prestigious school of public communication from Newhouse) under a single dynamic academic umbrella.
